About The Farmers Dinner

The Farmers Dinner brings together farmers, chefs and diners in beautiful settings to educate, inspire and enjoy really good food.

Our Story

My name is Keith Sarasin and I am the founder of  The Farmers Dinner and I want to share with you my passion.

When I was a chef I realized the importance of fresh food, but the reality was most of our food took a 1,500 mile trip before it even reached our plates. I wanted to change that in my own life so I set out to meet with local farmers and chefs to ask why. After a long journey, I arrived at an answer…

Many farmers aren’t aware of the chefs who want their products. Many chef’s aren’t aware of the farms that sit just miles from where they are located. And many people aren’t aware of the amazing stories that lie in the soils of the hardworking farmers who till their fields.

That’s when it occurred to me, why not bring people, farmers and chefs together to educate, inspire and enjoy really good food. See, The Farmers Dinner does just that. You meet Local Farmers and Local Chefs in beautiful settings while enjoying fresh from the farm food.

We want to invite you to experience The Farmers Dinner first hand and then you will know why there really is … a story in every bite.

The Farmers Dinner is pleased to announce a partnership with The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce to bring the first annual Farmers Dinner Gala in partnership with Great American Downtown and Celebrations Catering to downtown Nashua on Sunday, June 21, 2015.

All proceeds will go to benefit 3 local charities.

ORIS: The Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success (ORIS) is an ethnic community-based organization. Our mission is to aid in the resettlement of refugee and immigrant groups in the state of New Hampshire by providing assistance, training, resources, and opportunities that promote self-sufficiency.

Gate City Community Gardens Inc: is a NH non-profit organization dedicated to supporting community, gardening, and education in the city of Nashua. The organization supports a 12 bed community garden in the Tree Streets neighborhood, along the Heritage Rail Trail. The garden was built in 2013, and it provide an opportunity for people from the neighborhood to connect with each other, and also creates a point of interest along the Rail Trail for hundreds of people who use it daily for recreation and simply moving around town. Garden members grow their own food and learn different garden techniques from one another as well as guest speakers during GCCG’s regular free education series held during growing season. The organization is expanding their footprint in 2015, with a new foraging garden, and is also launching a web series called “That’s a Mighty Fine Garden,” which will showcase interviews recorded with local gardeners in their gardens. The organization was formed as an answer to the great demand within the community for gardening space, and they see plenty of room for growth in the years ahead.

Marguerite’s Place: is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 transitional housing and supportive services program for homeless women in crisis, age 18 to 45, and their children. Women exiting our program are usually able to leave behind the welfare system, menial employment and other stigmas associated with poverty. As individual women take on the responsibilities and benefits of consistent employment and a secure home environment, they serve as self-assured and powerful role models for their children and other resident families.

Event Description: The Court St. Theater will be transformed into an old farm while guest speakers from the local agricultural community and the three charities will be coming together to inform, educate and inspire. Guests will be greeted with a three course hors d’oeuvres menu crafted from local, in season ingredients grown just miles away.  Celebrations Catering of Nashua New Hampshire will be preparing the food.
